Do a lot of accommodations have a community gas or charcoal grill to cook on? Do some accommodations have a private grill?

Really can vary from location to location. In the past my husband and I used the charcoaled grill at the Yacht Club Apartments. On large group trips to both Eden Beach and Buddy Dive we provided our own grills and grilled on the property. And if I remember correctly the restaurant to Eden actually allowed us to use one of their grills that they only use certain nights. Most private rental residences/villas have a charcoal grill to use. Also, we were on island one time and the charcoal was scarce and used something that resembled blacken wood chips, it worked fine.

Also I meant to mention that I've never heard mention while on Bonaire of the use of gas grills like so many of us have in the states. But maybe someone else can better address that.

We do use gas grills here and many homes have them, however "carbon" (Locally made charcoal) is more common. You do have to keep in mind it is quite windy and many a bbq has been delayed just in getting the fire started.

David, Ask the places that you are looking into if they have a grill. And if they do, ask if it it gas or charcoal? We use a gas grill, I see many who have purchased small charcoal grills & they ususualy leave them behind. Just too bad some places don't save them for future guest use.
