Just returned from Bonaire and thought we'd give our impression of the old "Great Escape" now Roomers.

We had a 7:30 dinner last night and, regrettably, were the only customers in the restaurant. Some bar folks drifted out about 8pm but basically that was it between 7:30 and 9pm.

The place looks great. It's spotless and nicely puffed up. The menu consists of about 5 or 6 items, including a beef dish, a chicken dish, a fish dish, a shrimp dish and a special. The owner was very accommodating to the vegetarian in our party.

The food was nicely prepared and as you would expect from an empty restaurant, came promptly. The owner and his wife were polite and helpful.

BelMar, across the street, was completely booked, and I would have expected a bigger crowd. Perhaps a bit of advertising in the local throwaways will help.

Give it a shot!
