Just back from lunch at the Bistro. Now we have to blow off diving because my wife is too full.

Someone on this board recommended the French Onion Soup. Unfortunately they did not mention that it was a meal in itself and we also ordered a sandwich to split.

How good was the French Onion Soup? It looked amazing when I was there but I didn't taste it.

while in Bonaire--all of February :-), my husband had the French Onion Soup at least twice a week. Fabulous stuff--Patrice is the BEST host-great food salads are great too--that's what I had!

In two years we haven't made it there. How are their prices? How much for the soup?

I think that the soup was about 11 Naf but it really is huge! The "crouton" is in fact a mini loaf of bread and there is enough cheese to sink a battle ship.

If you are a veggie, ask Patrice whether he has used veggie of beef stock.

Wow, that sounds great. We'll have to make sure we do Bistro next year.

We had several lunches at Bistro de Paris when we were in Bonaire last month. We ordered something different each time. EVERYTHING was delicious. Prices are very reasonable, and portions are VERY large. There are many vegetarian choices, and all we tried were great. However, our favorite sandwich was the one with pastrami and roasted vegetables---called the Bistro Special---or something like that. It was OUTSTANDING!

We haven't tried this place yet, I think we'll give it a try this time, always pass it and wonder.

Hi, Lorraine! Joe and I lunched at Bistro with Michael last year and it was absolutely fabulous!! You will definitely enjoy the food and the wonderful gentleman who is the proprietor. Definitely add this one to you list for this trip. Lunch was very enjoyable here and air conditioned to boot! LOL. Carole

Just home after 10 days on Bonaire. We've eaten at BdP every year since it opened. Two dinners this year but no lunches. The food is always great. Service unmatched. The servings are more than ample. Split a salad, or call it your entree. Yes, the onion soup is very good. It's so hard to do soups without ending up too salty, but they've pulled it off. The Lobster Bisque was very good also. And to top it off, Patrice has what may well be the best Calvados this side of France. Oh yes, the Salade de Fois Gras is to die for.
