This year we tried a couple of new places and also revisited an old favorite. We met friends coming in on the Red Eye from Houston on the 26th and took them to breakfast at Bongo's so that they could sit out on the beach after being cooped up inside airplanes and terminals for so long. We also ate dinner there on our last night in Bonaire, and the food was delicious; fish fajitas, shrimp quesadillas, and two fish specials for the other couple, all terrific. We ate at Le Flamboyant one evening (WONDERFUL steak); Plazita Limena (good, but lots of starch, and they didn't know how to make a caiparinha); and Papaya Moon twice, where the fish tacos and creme brulee are outstanding. Our friends went back again after we left. We never got around to trying Wil's Tropical Grill or Bobbiejean's, but we have to save something for next year!

Re Caipirinha: Should we expect that a Peruvian restaurant be able to produce an authentic Brazilian cocktail, even if it's on their menu?

Great positive post, now you are qualified to post a negative post in the future if the need arises. :-)

We also just returned from Bonaire and had great dinners at:

Donna and Giorgio's
(Pasta Alfredo, Shrimps and Tiramisu)
Lions Den
(Steak and Fish Bouiabaise (not a clue how to write this))
Bambu with friends
Very good, Marlin carpaccio & Tomato soup (of the day), Tuna steak and Tenderloin.
It rains fishes,
Also very good.

Everywhere the service was great and where they served the wrong meal we got free wine and both of us warm new dishes.

No complains from us.

We really enjoyed Plazita Limena: great rice and shrimps (LOTS of shrimps!) and the rib-eye steak was wonderful. Bonaire is not Rio - it's a small island and I am amazed at the sophisticated assortment of restaurants.
