We will have a group of 16 in Bonaire in January and are looking for an idea of where we can have a group dinner one night - our Dive Club is paying for it. Something reasonable, and does not have to be fancy. Even pizza would be great. Does anyone have any suggestions of where and if you have done this before, any recommendations of making reservations, etc. I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

Depending on the how adventeursome your group is, why not try Gibi's? He does require reservations, because it is literally out of his home. It might be a great place to see the true nature of Bonaire-and from what I've heard, he will not dissapoint!

BTW, he's very reasonable.

You can talk to Franco at the Ribs Factory. I know I have been there when dive clubs have been there. Decent food and nice view.

Gibi's would be a great choice, another would be Casablanca's.

Pantagonia is a nice restaurant with plenty of seating options for a large group. Pablo and Ines are lots of fun and the food is wonderful. They are at the marina just south of the traffic circle.

Oh, and a big welcome to Bonaire Talk.

I've taken groups that size to Casablanca, Patagonia, Cactus Blue, Warung Louise, Garden Cafe, Lion's Den, Rum Runners, and probably others. Calling - or visiting - in advance and not just stopping by is mandatory!

I really wanted to like Patagonia and tried them twice. The service was great but the kitchen was variable in quality. On previous trips, Casablanca was great, but last time the "all you can eat" night was so poor that we did not give them a second chance. The only restaurant that was really outstanding was Garden Cafe.

We have eaten at Patagonia three times now over two trips and have been very impressed by their great food. I think Mel nailed the main places to go.

Jodi, we have had a group that size twice while on Bonaire. We ate in the Chibi Chibi both times. They gave us the entire upper floor and we were very pleased with their service and food. You can't beat the view over the water and having a private area is a nice feature as well. If you contact them in advance i am pretty sure you can make similar arrangements.

We have had both dinners and lunches at Patagonia. The owners are wonderful people, and the food is always tremendous. I have never been disappointed either by service or food. Their Argentinian wine list is great too.

Patagonias, Lion'sDean, or Rum Runners would be My choices for a Group Dinner. Pizza @ Rum Runners is very good.

Wow! Thank you everyone for all your ideas. I can't wait to get to Bonaire and I know our group dinner will be great.

How about Papaya Moon. They have a great Court Yard type place that is great. The place is beautifully decorated. Give them a call!
