Greetings from Bonaire where we are staying at the Belmar. We had an lovely dinner last night at a new place called Warung Louise on Kaya Grandi #7.

Debbie and her boyfriend, proprietors of Wattaburger, spend 6 months renovating this space so it's now quite charming. The Indonesian food represents a return of this cuisine to Bonaire with a truly extraordinary Rijsttafel. And service was sensitive and energetic.

Warung Louise now competes with the top 2 or 3 places on Bonaire at 1/2 the price and shouldn't be missed.

Phillip, I second that emotion. After having rijsttafel at the Old Inn on Bonaire and now Warung, I love it. Last March, a group of us did a rijsttafel up here in PA. Although the prep work was incredible (4 bottles of wine) the product was all worth it. If anyone is interested in doing this for a dinner party, everything you need is right here at this company, even the recipes.

we had the rijstafel louise back in august and were disappointed. we had the rijstafel at mambo jambo and thought it was much better -- less expensive, more (and better) food -- the soup was superb!!
service at waring louise was very slow --- yet they actually asked two girls at another table to leave!!!!

Now this is a place I have yet to try. Will put it on my "Give It A Try List". Last time I was on island it was closed most of the time I was there.

Last August they were still experiencing the new restaurant blues. I think you should give them another try..

One of my favorite eateries on the island. The food is more authentic indonesian (tastes) than anything I have tasted elsewhere on Bonaire. They did have some issues starting up but have now streamlined both the kitchen and the service so definitely worth a try. We have travelled in Indonesia and always feel like we're back there when we eat at Warung Louise.
