I ran across notes I made for last year's trip to eat at LeMaSe's in Rincon, but we ate at Rose Inn (really enjoyed it) instead. When I was going over my notes today, I had to get on the internet to see what I had written down. I didn't realize it was a different name for turnovers made on many islands in the caribbean. Has anyone had them in Rincon? Or, made them? I found a recipe that mentions Bonaire. I don't want to deep fat fry them, and am wondering if they could be baked. Thanks

many people bake them but the taste is a bit bland. They now make ham and cheese, cheese, meat, chicken or tuna pastechies...

I think Norman (from LeMaSe) has the best pastechi you can have on Bonaire! And yes, he is a great guy!
