Back from our trip last week and battling hard core PBD...

Just wanted to post a note to mention how great Bistro de Paris was for lunch. They offer a good selection of sandwiches, paninis, etc, all on fresh made croissants or baguettes. The prices are very reasonable and the gentleman who took care of us (I think he was the owner) was very friendly! Most important, though, is that our sandwiches were very tasty AND were accompanied by roasted potatoes and a small green salad! Yumm-o!

Generally, we would not have even considered Bistro de Paris, as French food is not generally at the top of our list, but some friends recommended we try it for lunch, so we did and we were not disappointed.

The are open from 11-3 for lunch on weekdays only.

Rebecca, we ate lunch there three times on our last trip. I totally agree with your assessment above. It is a really great spot to spend an afternoon after some morning dives. My friends got the chocolate fondue for dessert. It was outrageous.

Whatever you do..if you order Patrice's outrageously delicious burger with his own sauce on it please DON'T ask for ketchup (catsup)! LOL. Right, Michael?! LOL.

I can't recall the exact name of the burger but I believe it had some sort of delicious brandy or wine sauce with mushrooms, and other delicacies. Yummmmmy! Everything is delicious and the company is wonderful and as Michael pointed out...it is air conditioned! Yea! Carole

Ate there last night - tried the lobster special. On a scale of 1-10 I'lll rate it a 7. The presentation was very pleasant but the potatos ranged from burnt to underdone and unfortunately the lobster chunks spent a far too much time under the broiler for my tastes. Needed a stout knife to carve through the bits and got a good jaw workout chewing them.

Not worth the $40 US entree fee IMHO. In fairness perhaps it was their regular cook's night off? I dunno. The glass of wine was very good.

I think I'll give Casablanca a shot tonite.

Oh wow, bummer you had a bad meal at BDP Randy. That is one of my favorite places on the island for lunch..and an amazing dinner also. Patrice is THE nicest guy and will bend over backwards to make sure you're happy and enjoying your meal. I guess it was an off night...don't give up. And I am a BIG food snob coming from Los Angeles!

Mercy, I'm with you. It's one of my favorite places as well, and Patrice is THE best:-)

Yeah, lunch was great here! The service was charming and excellent. The price is amazing for lunch. Good size portions too.

Now dinner, maybe another thing totally. Too "French" (equals pricey and snaily lol) for my taste but the Burgers I hear are awesome.

My wife and I honeymooned in Bonaire 1/07, and returned in 11/07 with a "things to do again in Bonaire" list. Besides diving, dinner at BDP was at the top of the list! Patrice in an incredible host, and even remembered us from our honeymoon almost a year ago. He greeted us each with a glass of champagne upon our return! Nothing else compares for us... the rack of lamb, conch soup, goat cheese salad, and if available... Calvados from France to sip on after dinner. The whole experience was nothing short of perfect. We ate there three times each week we were there. Patrice has always been hospitable to a fault, and we really felt like we were family. We can't wait to return! But definitely, don't miss the creme brulee!!
