This was the best vacation we ever had! Here is our summary of restaurants this year in order of our favorites:

Richards-always fresh fish, fresh prepared tasty vegetables(sweet carrots and zucchini with garlic, yum), good service every time and consistently good fresh, food at a fair price plus the view is worth a million dollars.... A sea breeze, no bugs and the Mango Margaritas rock! We love this place. We ate there 2 times and the staff is so friendly and welcoming.

Pasa Bon Pizza -incredible bargain, good service. The cheese pizza with fresh tomato was excellent and when the bill came, I thought there was a mistake, 1 beer, 2 soft drinks and a medium pizza for under $16 US, what a deal! Delicious, this is a real find! Very friendly service. The owner/manager was super friendly and checked on all the tables.

Cactus Blue- the chicken curry was okay, fish soup was okay, my wifes catch of the day was okay- good service but they need different chairs. I can't sit in those metal chairs for more than 30 minutes.

Wills -The Ahi was okay but the vegetables tasted like they were frozen/precooked and were tasteless and the service was very slow. This was disappointing after last years great meals. The desserts were the highlight of the meal. There were lots of mosquitos too. Margaritas were good.

Donna and Georgios- started out good with an excellent smoked marlin salad but it went downhill after that. The sauce on my seafood pasta was way too rich and heavy, my wife's catch of the day was just average, her pasta was just okay but what ruined it for us were the musicians that sounded like drunk mariachis and they were so out of tune we had to leave asap. We hear enough noise back home, we don't want to hear it on vacation. The highlight was the special drink with banana and chocolate and the smoked Marlin.

Vespuccis- disappointing, they could not make a decent margarita, they tried twice, the first one had no taste and the second frozen version was blue and tasted nothing like a margarita, the prices were high, more than any other meal we had -the food was okay and the service was good (there were only 4 other people eating there). The seafood pasta tasted better than Donna and Georgios and the smoked marlin appetizer was good. The view was nice but we won't return, there are too many other restaurants to try.

Next I will post some messages on the awesome diving and snorkeling, the important part of our trip!

Bob --

Appreciate your message, since other than Richard's and Cactus Blue, these are places where I have not eaten. I did want to ask you about Donna and Georgio's. On another thread in this section (Best 7 Restaurants in Bonaire), people seem to rave about that place. In my two trips to Bonaire, I had not heard of it. Where is it? Wonder why the difference of opinion. I am returning to Bonaire this December (the 27th), and want to try some new places. I guess that Donna and Georgio's might have otherwise been on my list had I not seen your negative review!

The other one that I HAVE heard of but have not tried is Will's Tropical Grill. Have driven past it, so I know it's location. Had planned to try it this December, as well. Other BTers have raved about it, as well.

Steve

Steve,

Donna and Georgios is at the waterfront after the Divi Hotel if you are going towards town. It was very busy so others must like it....

We just returned home yesterday from a ten day stay on your island. What a geat 3rd time visit. We ate at al of the same places as you all did, including Mona Lisa's. When we were driving away from the restaurant, we stopped and relooked at our bill, and discovered we were doubled billed for our bar bill, which was approximately 21.00 us dollars. The waitress, or someone, added the drinks twice to the bill. We waited 20 minutes for a table when only 3 tables had people at them. Normally we sit down at our table right away so we don't keep our 10 year old in the bar section. The food was good, although a little higher than the rest of the restaurants we visited. It rains fishes shrimp in alfredo sauce with melted cheese over it is to die for. Pasa Bon and Donna & G's was great. So was the BBQ at Bongo's. Everyone we encountered on the island was very friendly and helpful in any way. Thanks for another great vacation!
