I see from the removal note that Warum Lousie was axed..I am sure it was unintentional on their part. As you know, I edit the Bonaire Dining Guide and try to be an impartial poster when it involves the local restaurants but at the same time offer tips, etc. when it comes to personal experiences. What I do know is that we really need an exclusive indonesian kitchen here and it looks like we will be getting one soon! Presently Mambo Jambo has a few choice dishes. I pigged out on appetizer the other night!

Some news groups have a commercial posting area such as the dive groups. I know one can advertise here (I have in the past) but it's a thought...

About four weeks ago, a friend of mine from Wales and I hosted a Rijstaffel. I purchased all the spices and recipes from http://www.indonesiancooking.com/index.html
Needless to say, it was a huge success with many of our friends who have never had this culinary experience. David and I started prepping at about 12:30 PM. Three bottles of wine later, dinner was ready to be served at about 7:30. We had more fun prepping, listening to great music, etc. then we had eating. We have decided that this will always be an annual event on the third Saturday in April. Everyone there was very happy that we are going to make this an annual. The people I dealt with, at the company, could not have been nicer as well. I believe it was Alex who turned me on to this link.

Also, Michael, if you have any knowledge about a Rijstaffel opening in June, could you send me a private email? We shall be arriving June 23. Thank you.

I assume this is the business that Debbie (from Wattaburger) will open with her mother. Since self promotion is not allowed...I think we (people not involved whatsoever but with some knowledge of what is happening) should gather the details and post them here. Like Michael I am also sure that self promotion was unintentional and I also look forward to a 'real' Indonesian restaurant!! All I know is that Debbie told me months ago about plans to open up a place in Kaya Grandi with her mom.

Good luck to them and I will surely try them out as soon as they open!!

And the location will be where? With rare exceptions, we're starved for Indonesian food in the San Francisco Bay Area.

They will be adjacent to Island Fashions downtown (across from Le Flamboyant), in the small plaza with the Lions Club time capsule monument.

They also will have delivery. For everyones information, a lot of our restaurants use a local guy who started a business and charges a flat delivery fee plus the restaurant bill.

O'Neill from Sunshine Delivery is great. So far he has the Swarma place near Telbo, Rum Runners, the Sushi place at Zeezicht, Wattaburger to name a few places he will deliver from to your hotel and his prices are fair. When you call any of the places above indicate you want delivery and they notify O'Neill. Great reminder Michael.

Thank you for the tips :-)

Mike, I never use O'Neill as I am afraid of becoming too lazy but man, if I were a tourist, what a convenience. I need to find his phone but remember the restaurants have it...

Is it possible to book a table for 2 on Wednesday the 27th also please? We are coming to Bonaire for that week from the UK. I am half Dutch and very rarely get to enjoy the Indonesian food that my mother grew up with in Holland. I know this is not very orthodox but hope it is ok?
