Hi! There are four of us headed back to Bonaire on Sunday...woo hoo! We get in super early Sunday am. Are there any grocery stores open on Sunday? I know that Warehouse isn't. I wasn't sure if Cultimara is or not. Thanks

It is on Niki Boko North..you can get directions once you are on island. It is quite easy to find.

Open everyday including Sundays and Holidays at 7AM is the Sand Dollar Grocery, located in the same strip of stores as Lover's Ice Cream and ChatnBrowse. It is the most convenient for those staying at Harbor Village,Sand Dollar, Buddys, or Capt Dons.

Hi Stewart & others,

I did not know there is a Sand Dollar Grocery Store. Is it a convenience store or a larger grocery store? And, what time does it close?

Thanks, honeymoon2

Sand Dollar Grocery Store would fall in the category of big convenience store. It reminded me of the kind of general stores you might see traveling in small towns in the states.
Choice is limited, but if they have what you need, then you are in luck. It didn;t seem like a place to stock up on groceries and from what I could tell it is more expensive than Cultimara.
But convenient :-)

Hi Micheal,
Is the Chinese grocery store expensive? When did it open? I was on Bonaire 3 years ago and didn't see any grocery store next to Peking.

It only opened last year. The prices are pretty good.

How is the quality? Might go to Bonaire this coming November and want to cook for my husband sometimes. He likes Chinese food. Do they have Chinese sauces, like soy sauce, oyster sauce etc...
If you know any other places, please let me know.
I really appreciate your help or anyone's help.

Thank you,
Sara

Tung Fung store also has a large assortment of chinese/oriental food-stufs. they are on the same road as win cheun. They are not a supermarket but have this line because the owners and most of their workers are chinese. They are open 8:30 - 12:30 and 2:30 - 6:30 Mon - Sat. There are more chinese owned markets but these 2 have the largest assortment of chinese/oriental food-stufs.

Thank you Madman.
I'm looking forward to visit Wing Cheung and see what they have in stock.
I don't quite like Tung Fung though because I think their price for Chinese/Oriental items are a little bit overpriced....just my opinion....
