My wife is having a 'significant' birthday while we are on Bonaire in March, you know one of those that ends with a zero, and I want to take her out to a nice restaurant.
It shouldn't be pretentious, but romantic would be ideal.
Any suggestions.
Thanks!

I would suggest Pattagonia. We ate there last week twice and was very pleased with it. Ask for a table near the water and plan to be there at sunset, very romantic. Say hello to Dottie Luc for me also.

We love Wil's for special times. Have eaten there for my husband's birthday, our anniversary and Christmas. Beautiful garden setting with scrumptious food, fabulous presentation and great people.

Having looked at Wil's menu, I know that lava cake at Wils will be appreciated!
I have heard good things about the dining at Richards. Would getting the pier table at 7 be recommended? I checked Wunderground.com and sunset is going to be 6:42 on March 3 with complete darkness at 7:53.
Maybe we could stroll over to Wil's for the lava cake!

If you choose Richards, get to the pier table by 6:15-6:30 to fully enjoy the sunset (the half-hour before it is really pretty). It's yours for the entire night.

Cappricio is the best place on the island. Pricey though.

Mona Lisa's - pricey but really nice.

Mona Lisa's not open on Sat/Sun. 3/3 is a Sun, right?

Thanks everyone who replied and posted previously about places to eat.
Well, I called Richards and talked to them and they had the pier table available on Saturday 3/3 so I booked it for the night. I like the internet, but have to admit that the phone works well too.
All the other places looked great too, but after reading hundreds of posts here and elsewhere I decided to go with the 'experience'. We'll be sure to bring bug spray :-)

Ruth,
I'm sure we will swing by your restaurant as well. At least once.

Thanks Frank--though I wouldn't list us too high on the "romance" chart, (unless you take a bucket up to watch the sunset from Seru Largo).
;-)

PS-reserve your dessert when you order your dinner at Richards; if he's busy, he can run out.

Hi Michael, As far as I can tell they don;t have one. they don't need one as they seemed quite packed. In order to get a reservation, you will need to call them during the evening.
