Our first dining experience was from a truck in the downtown area. We just flew in and restaurants were closing at 10. It was parked beside the Cultimara supermarket. We had bbq'd chicken and steak, with salad and french fries. Was delicious and only $10 for us both.

Our agent recommended Will's Cafe which was great. We had Conch fritters, thai shrimp, asian ribs, good tropical drinks, and to top it all off...dessert was a warm choc. chip cookie with ice cream and kahlua whipped cream. "It was to die for!" as our waiter told us.

We wondered into Salsa (only because I liked the music they were playing...Thievery Corporation and Cafe del Mar). We were both very disappointed. Tough steak and mushy lobster. No spice, flavor or flare! Can't judge a restaurant by its cool facade.

We had Papagayo for breakfast twice. Great eggs, pancakes and sausage (hey, I'm eatting for two and can appreciate a hearty breakfast.)

I read and heard about Mona Lisa and the bisque. WOW! It was delicious. I followed it with the Rembrant salad...Mmmm. He had special with filet mignon, frois grois (?), potatoes, and a super delicious scallop salad.

And of course we did Pasa Bon Pizza one night. Not quite New York style...but very good considering.

If you're not going to cook at home (which is what we did)..expect to spend money on your meals.
