Hello! We will be arriving early on Christmas Eve morning and will be staying in a house and was wondering what restaurants might be open on either Christmas eve and/or Christmas day for dining. I got some info about possible grocery stores that may be open as well (thank you!). Any information would be helpful! Looking forward to our first trip! Thanks!

The larger resorts resturants will be open, ie Plaza, Buddy's, Cap'n Don's, etc. Check out www.infobonaire.com and click on the resturant section and you should find info on who will be open on the 24-25th.

Wow, I'm surprised that anything other than the resorts is open. I've always found Bonaire to be pretty catholic (small c) about closing on religious holidays. But Ann, you live there, so you should know!

My recommendation would be to book a table in advance over the Christmas and New Years celebrations.

there are lots of tokos and small shops open on Christmas and Boxing Day. I will try to have a list available in the next few days.

It is nice for us touristas that things are open on the holidays, but I do like the fact that many local places, close down, still do it the old way, even if it's not my way. Where I live, everything goes pretty much full blast all the time...I bet you could buy your Hello Kitty Bondagewear on Christmas morning somewhere in San Francisco if you wanted to. It's nice to be forced to slow down and accommodate another culture sometimes!

Hi, Mercy! Yeah, living around here keeps one's sense of the incongruous well developed, as if I need to tell you!
