Last night we had a great meal at Lucille's new restaurant in town. ( The street is a quiet one, Kaya General M. Piar, near Cultimara)

The restaurant/shack was recommended by Michael Gaynor from Chat and Broswe and The Boanire Reporter.

We had ribs, pork chops and the meal balls. They were all delicious and came with , fries, rice, very nice cole slaw and peanut sauce - for the ribs. The ribs were succulent and the fries extra crisy - always hard to get these just right. Lucille prepared and served everything herself.

The place is colorfull, simple and clean and the night we were there the place had mostly locals.
Prices are very reasonable.

If you call ahead, Lucille will make special dishes with an Indonesian or Thai menu.

This place is a gem. Lydia

The first time I ever met Lucille was years ago during Carnivale. She was having a beer up at the corner outside restaurant of Kaya Grande watching the parade. She invited us to come down to her restaurant for dinner some night during our stay. Although we passed the restaurant, Chez Lucille, many times walking up to town from the Divi or the Dive Inn, we never ate there. One night we decided to go. Lucille was most welcoming and made us a wonderful dinner. During the years, we got to know her son and brother as well. We have been back many times, both there and her other place north of town. I am glad to hear she is back, as she is a wonderful person and a great hostess.

We did chicken and ribs takeout from Pampas and it was excellent. Lucille is very accommodating of special requests and the prices are very good. NOTE: it is closed Sundays and Mondays

Chez Lucille on the water was kind of our "special" place to eat: lovely food, festive atmosphere, warm service. And we always saw Lucille greeting everyone. I was sorry to see it go, so I'll be happy to try Pampas.
I, the Crackpot Vegetarian could always get something wonderful at Chez Lucille, but I understand the new place is more of a local cuisine. Will they still feed me something?

Barbara,

Lucille remains accomodating, especially if you call ahead or drop by and let her know. This includes making Thai or Indonesian. She made a coleslaw that my spouse had to go back the next day for more.

And although you do not eat ribs, I will say (though folks are likely to ban me from the island and this board), the ribs are as good if not better than Bobbijan's which we love. Spouse likes them better.

Thank you, Lydia. And my mate LOVES ribs, so that will make him happy. Lucille's food is pretty exquisite, I think.
