Is their new restaurant open yet next to the Dive Inn? If so, how is it? Comments please.

Jim, yes it is. And the water view is fabulous, but probably not as fabulous as the food:-):-):-)

Hi Jim,
We're practically neighbors! My husband & I live in Newtown. We're headed to Bonaire for the first time on 8/19...primarily for the windsurfing. When are you headed there? By any chance do you know Guy Washinger (lives in Yardley)? Good friend of ours who loves to dive. (Not sure how "close knit" you divers are!)

Vicki

I can't say enough about the food. It is so good that I have tried to steal Georgios recipes! Great food, service, location...be sure to make a reservation...they tend to be full all the time...

We loved the location and especially the food. Try the gorgonzola penne pasta. They add pineapple chunks to the mix ; it's amazing !!!

My family and I ate there twice when we were there in April. Yummy food, great location and fun! Kids loved the pizza too!

No Vicki, sorry to say I don't know your friend. Our best friends live in Newtown. In fact, I'm going over there tonight. I have been with CR for 32 years now. I am going to retire next year.

Those 3 older gentlemen you speak of are three of the older guys who are keeping Bonairean music alive. Every once in a while, they also have about 3 or 4 younger guys who sit on their sessions. They are quite amazing. However, it's kind of like the Blues. Younger people are not getting into it, and unfortunately it may be a fading art form. I hope I'm wrong.

There is also a dive master at the Divi who plays in a Bonairean band. He does most of the percussion, and he is also very good.

We love Donna & Gorgio's !
Their new seaside location(a short walk from Divi) is great and so is the food and service.
They have done a beautiful job decorating and rebuilding at their new location seaside.
Italian food. The menue is on the blackboard along with delicious specials.
They have music mosts nights(changes everynight)and Donna is always there with her warm welcoming personality along with her professional staff. Prices reasonable. Not open everyday. Only for dinner. Check to see.
We also had pizza delivered one night too.
It is always our first place to have dinner when we come back. Enjoy!
Reservations strongly suggested as it can be busy.

We had an early dinner, around 6, to leave room for a night dive.

The staff was inhospitable (ignored for the most part, not visited during the meal, and couldn't hardly get the staff attention), the food mediocre (i had chicken fetucine or something like that-tasted like yesterday's left over), and the location was terrible (the pier went into operation and I thought we were going to get run over half the time and wondered how much extra beach I was eating because I was blinded by the truck reving up the ramp - yeah, bad timing).
Oh well, food as fuel, but not a pleasant dinner.

It must have been a bad moon night for us.
Ranks up there with one of the last places I'm patronizing.

Just got back from 10 days in paradise. We ate there twice and it was really delicious both times. It's perfectly located for those staying at Divi. My only complaint is their plastic table cloths as I find them hot and a haven for mosquitos. Otherwise it is a welcome addition to the more southern end of the "strip."
