Did ya'll know Antriol Catering serves tuttu and Bonchi Cora (local dishes) on Monday. Michael Gaynor's shop assistant told me and wow, was it good. By the way, I want to file a complaint. Michael Gaynor is harrassing me. He says I eat out wayyy too much (I really do not but love to post when I do if it is extra special) and well, I think you should ALL KNOW, he TOO was at Antriol Catering..so there Michael..bai swa...did I mention Wil from Wil's Grill serves a MEAN chocolate mousse?? oh MY GOSH..he has to add it to the menu...oh, this was a LONG TIME ago that he served this to me Michael so leave me alone...

Ann, can you tell us all what these two dishes are? I, too, am very fond of Antriol Catering. And just ignore Michael's harrassment!

Ok I will try but defer to Michael who knows more...The Tuttu is red beans and cornmeal and I later heard but did not taste it, pork. It is a packed serving and you eat it with the salt fish..a wonderful blend of salty and sweet. Included was a lovely salad and batter dipped plantains. I do not eat plantains but I ate these. The bunchi cora is red beans, right Michael..all will help you stay single in bed that night..haaaaaaaaa..

I can take Michael's harrassment and dish it RIGHT BACK. :-)

I second Ann's assessment of Wil's chocolate mousse--He made it special for my birthday on June 27 because I begged him. But if everyone tells him to add it to the menu, he is quite willing to please his customers. I am also hooked on the chicken wings--absolutely perfect--crispy, unique spicing, and tender and juicy inside--as well as the most unique Caesar salad I have ever had--wrapped in thin Parmesan with baby Romaine and a thin kind of ham.

Pauline
We will be in Bonaire in 12 days. My wife loves chicken wings - did you get them at Wil's Grill?
Tom

For Annie: TUTU recipe
1 cup Black eyed peas soaked overnight in water
Drain, cover with 4 cups water (or two cups water and 2 cups coconut milk) and bring to a boil in heavey sauce pan.
Add 1 cup dark brown sugar, loosly packed
2 cloves garlic cloves crushed
8 strips bacon diced or 1/4 lb salt beef
1.5 tsp salt
Add 4 tablespoons of butter if coconut milk is omittes. Omit salt if using salt beef
Boil rapidly for about 30 minutes.
Gradually stir in 1 cup of corn meal. Cook for 3 minutes stirring vigirously, When it is stiff and pulls away from the side of the pan, turn the mixuture into a well buttered bowl and cover with a heavy plate. Shake tutu down in and invert bowl onto serving plate.
Now, we just need some sort of tracking device for Annies car and portable web cam...no harassment intended of course.
