Wherever you go (or try to go), suggest calling well ahead of time and making reservations.

Richard's can handle the crowd. If calling from the States, he can be reached at 011-599-717-5263. Do NOT add a "1" before the "011" as 599 is Bonaire's country code, not a US/North American area code.

Another place that can handle the crowd is Anthony's Extreme Cuisine. Although the food is rather different (4-legged chicken [a.k.a. iguana], goat stew, ...), it is an interesting experience and good. Suggest asking for a price quote and offering to pay in advance as Anthony's is small and it would not be right for him to prepare for your crowd and then not have people show up. I do not have Anthony's phone number.

I have gone with a large group and had no problems at Capt. Dons or Richards. We DID have a bad experience at Tipsy Seagull though... we were the only ones there and got terrible service. Could have been an off night, though.

We joined a group of 16-20 at the restaurant at Harbor Village in 2003. One of the group had caught a 30-pound 'sushi-quality' tuna and knew the chef. They served a tuna ceviche appetizer and several entree options featuring the tuna. The chocolate lava cake dessert was fantastic. My wife and I enjoyed it so much we returned a couple days later.

Kirk at Lions Den will handle this if booked in advance, I guess! Food is yummy!

We have been on the Island twice with a group this size. We were accommodated at Richards, Blue Moon, Casablanca, and Croccantinos. We had 13 one evening at City Cafe and Pasa Bon Pizza another. The only thing you must do is call in advance for reservations and be prepared to go when the restaurant can seat you.

Casalanca can also handle the group as well as Bistro de Paris. The both have airconditioned dining areas as well.

Frank,
Which restaurant on Bonaire are you the manager of?

Inquiring minds want to know? :-)

Frank manages Bambu...

Frank - I'm sure you'll get notice of this soon enough from the moderators, but self-promotion for a business you run/manage/work for is a major no-no on BonaireTalk.

That said, we had a nice meal at Bambu with Susan and Lisa this past week.

One note, Casablanca does not take reservations (at least this was the policy last October)...however, Babs was able to sweet talk them into taking a reservation for our group:-)

Hello GH! I was able to make reservations twice at Casablanca during my last trip (May/June). I think they might have changed their policy. :-)

Thanks Tribs:-) In October, when Babs, Normal, Darlene, Tom, Smack and I went by to make reservations, they said they didn't take them. Again, Babs sweet talked them into taking them:-)

Richard does not take reservations unless the group is 6 or more. Casabalanca DOES take reservations and they always have. I wonder where the misinformaition came from?

Michael...I'll have to ask Babs. When we stopped by last October, they said the didn't take reservations. I'll point Babs in this direction. It was Regatta week, maybe that's why?

Maybe it was a new host (it definitely wasn't a hostess :-) ) When I begged, the owner stepped in and said they would....I did have to be persistent but don't know why...Regatta week, time of evening, overbooked...????....it turned out well anyway!

GH,
Maybe you should have shared the beer...

Question, and this one is for Brian.
It is a common 'Americanism' to say that one has had three beers instead of saying that one has had three bottles of beer.

BUT, if one has consumed a pale ale, a lager, and a wheat beer, then is it okay to say that one has had three beers?

These and other questions keep me up late nights....

Then Mare, you're not drinking enough beers.

PS-Michael, Richard takes reservations for any number of diners, not just the 6+ anymore.
