We will be on Bonaire in a couple of months and would like to make reservations at Richards for a table on the pier. How can I contact the restaurant prior to our arrival? I assume there are pier tables for three? Thanks,

Edward

It's one table, and he takes only one reservation per night for the pier, so it's best to book ahead. I believe it can seat up to 6, maybe 8 people. Call around 6pm (eastern time) any day except Mondays. From the US: 011-599-717-5263.

Recommend making your reservation for half an hour before sunset ... you'll see why...

And be apply to use insect repellant just before you go to dinner. (This applies to Richards as well as every other restaurant right on the water, as sometimes, but not always, the biting bugs come out just before sunset, and especially when the wind falls off.) Also, if you find the mosquitoes biting, ask Richard or your waitress for additional insect repellant; they will happily supply some.

Enjoy. Richards is a must-do for us on every trip.

We just returned from Bonaire this past weekend. The highlight of our dining experiences was dining on the pier of Richards. We arrived on Bonaire on a Wednesday and immediately made reservations for the pier for the Sunday evening of our first weekend. Since they only reserve the table to 1 group for the evening, it was a very relaxed dining experience in which you control the pace of the evening. Once the table is reserved, it is yours from 6 pm until closing. Richard will give you a 2-way radio and you just call him when you need food, drink, etc. We had a great evening with a breeze so bugs were never a problem. The sunset is around 7 pm so you want to be there at least by 6:30 if that is important to you. Great dining experience and I would highly recommend it!
