Hello, I am wanting to try the Swiss Chalet but am not sure what a rosti is--can anyone describe? and for those of you who eat there, what is the best to order on the menu? thanks

Pauline, I love the cordon blue (sic). The fondue is also wonderful! Oh, and those potatoes they serve with the meals are to die for!

Pauline,

The Rösti is the potato side dish Cynde is talking about. I once described it as "homefries" in front of Suzy and she almost took my head off!! They are fantastic leftovers and if you are staying in a place with a stovetop, they make a great breakfast before a morning of diving. We usually order an extra one and do just that.

You may want to try the Zuri Gschnatzlets which is pork in a mushroom sauce. My wife enjoys that and the Alpen Rösti. As for the fondue, we enjoy the bouillon based one. Also, my teenage son LOVES the onion soup and beef stroganoff. He will not order either one anywhere else and when I make them, he tells me "it's good but not as good as Noldy's." :-)

Swiss Chalet is right at the top of my favorite Bonaire restaurants. You will enjoy it.

Sorry to go on so much but as you can tell, I love this place.

Rösti also makes a great main course. Thanks for mentioning Swiss Chalet folks. Now I am missing Bonaire even more. Cheese please!! I need some cheese to go with my whine;-{)}

As Tom says, the rosti does make a good main course, especially for veggies.
My personal favourite is the Cordon Bleu, always cooked to order and always superb.
Love Swiss Chalet, Suzy is a real character. It is a must for all visitors.

Suzy lost some big LBS. She looks so much better.
Good for her!

Love that place.

I have to agree with the Cordon Bleu, it was the best I have ever tasted.
This is far most the BEST place to eat on Bonaire.
