Where are you staying? I can be persuaded to make box meals for people arriving that late, but it's usually only convenient for people staying here or at one of the neighboring properties.

Kevin, exactly where is the "bar" at Great Escape and what time does it close? Are the bar hours different than the restaurant hours? I've only been to the lobby, and the area under the covered area by the pool for breakfast. Trying to picture in my head as I walk through the lobby. I'm one of those that feel awkward walking into a new place not knowing where I'm going!

Eugene, this topic was discussed not too long ago. We did get a "little" off topic in the middle about where the world the best pizza is made, however, there is some good info there.

Thank you Cyn! I'm the same way. I hate walking into new places. My one friend will walk into any place and just start talking. I always feel like I am trespassing. I don't even walk on my neighbor's lawn. LOL!!!!! Thank you so much for asking Kevin these questions.

The bar is open until 10PM 7 nights a week. If I'm making money or having a good time with the guests, it may stay open later, but it isn't a night-owl place. If you walk in the front door and go straight out the back door, you will either fall in the swimming pool or walk past it to the bar, depending on your alertness level. The bar and restaurant are two churuhuatas connected together, and the bar is under the smaller of the two.

thanks Kevin, I;m not a night owl, but a place to go have a drink and maybe a little food when arriving on the late flight is always nice. After the 24-26 hour trek from the left coast, I may just walk into the pool...but it would wake me up! My husband just bought his and my stepsons ticket to join my on my next trip, and since he is a dark beer lover, we will be visiting you for that, and the Cuban cuisine! Can't wait!

Cynde how can someone who walks around the SJ airport with a flamingo hat feel funny walking into a new bar/restaurant???? And what about the confidence we exude when we walk into those establishments that we will not put into the guide for fear they find out about us using their chairs???? I am however laughing because I am exactly the same!!! Won't July be fun????

And now back to the original question ... Pasa Bon Pizza is open until 11pm on Sunday nights. If you go directly from the airport you can get there or if you check in first you can ask that your hotel call and order your pizza ahead. Since your arrival is 9:40 you will need to go through immigration and get your bags so the time will start to slip away -- perhaps where you are staying they can put a few groceries into your place??

Susan...LMAO...you are right...I guess I am "incognito" when I wear the "flamingo" hat and it gives me that extra boost for the stares...AND, I have NO problem walking into places I should NOT be with confidence...just the places I CAN be bother me...LMAO..yes, July will be fun!
