Mai Mai stopped business many months ago, but indeed Bambu opened in the same place, nice people, a menu with several specials, not so special as MaiMai, but surprising an a way, good food, (for the Americans: no huge portions), friendly service, a bit lower priced then MaiMai, but still not a cheapy", but what to expect from a restaurant near the shore, near the city-"center", and near many resorts....

Thanks, Harry! I saw Bambu when I was there this past November, but did not have time to stop in and check out their menu. Will definitely have to check it out in February when I return. It was pretty new then and no one I talked to had been there as of yet, so good to hear from you.

Sorry to se Mai Mai fold. I think it was a bit pricy, and a tad slow in service, but really good food. Hope the new place can make it?

Harrie, thanks for the info! I assume you've seen me eat since you put "no huge portions"... lol... Oh I'm cracking myself up today....

Ate at Bamboo last night. All 3 of us had the beef fajita and the size price taste was good. The only complaint was one portion was supposed to be well done and it was med/rare. Also they cut the tort shells into quarters to make very small fajitas. I also had the cheese dish for an appy. Can't remember the name but it is a Bonaire tradition. It was very tasty and would have it again.
