Steven

From previous years experience I would expect that most of them will be providing a festive menu.

Freddie,

Stewart is a regular Bonaire visitor (he almost lives here). Pretty sure he doesn't have an affiliation with Wil's Tropical Grill.

Seb, Mary, Linda, Yana, Bas, and I will be enjoying the Christmas menu at the Den Laman restaurant on Dec. 26th, however. Not cheap, but it too looks pretty phenomenal (and happens to be the only Christmas menu I have seen), plus Bas - our picky eater - will be able to get a burger and fries or something equally pedestrian while we savor our eight course meal :-) You can ask for a copy of it at sietse@flamingotv.net

Jake

Thanks Jake, I just had to ask!!Freddie

Wow, I'm hungry too! I had to google "spoom." I'm assuming they serve spoom to clear the palate prior to the main entree? (boy, don't I sound like I know what I'm talking about!)

If anyone else has menus, feel free to post them for others to see!

Oh yes, please do post some more of those lovely holiday menus so that us poor slobs who can't get to the island and are stuck here in the snow and sleet get to live vicariously through you! OK...winter makes me grumpy.

Seriously...keep 'em coming! I am living vicariously through all of you!

Thanks for the menu posts. Any buffets on Dec 24, 25 or 26? The kids really like buffets.

Wow...it may be just the effects of the current panic diet (you know, when you try on your summer stuff--including wetsuit--and realize you won't be able to cover it all up with sweaters? Don't tell me I'm the only one) but these menus looks really, really, really good. And very sophisticated, too.

They say suffering is good for the soul. So keep the menus coming, folks! Please!

Thanks Jake, I used to say I was going home (US) for a visit. But home now is really Bonaire, I go to the US to visit family. I have no special financial or other interest in Wil's Grill except it is one of my favorite places for dinner. When friends come to visit, I always take them there and everyone likes the special attention they receive. Although Wil is a great chef, I like that he will make spagetti with ketchup if that is what the children want. He also will adjust entrees for adults if he can to satisfy every taste. If I had the menu for Swiss Chalet I would post it also as I always get a great meal there also.

I talked to Lola of Cappriccio's last night. They are closed Dec 24, 25 and 31. They are open Dec 26 and Jan 1. She didn't have a menu yet but it is always good food.

Now for the more complicated one. I got this fancy three page fold out from Plaza Resort with all their Holidays events.

Dec 24 at the Banana Tree
Xmas Eve Dinner
4 different entrees plus apple pie
and a kid's menu
6pm and 8pm seatings

Dec 25
Xmas Day 4-5pm Santa at the Coconut Crash.

Xmas Day dinner at the Banana Tree
2 appetizer choices, 2 entree choices
plus cheesecake.
6pm and 8pm seatings

Xmas Day buffet at Tipsy Seagull with live music from Samara Band.
starts at 7pm

Dec 26
Boxing Day Brunch at Caribbean Point 12noon-3pm

Dec 31
New Year's Eve Dinner at the Banana Tree
6pm and 8pm seatings
4 more different entrees plus baked Alaska

New Year's Eve Live Music at Tipsy Seagull 10pm-2am

Except for the last party, you need to make reservations 717-2500 x8168 for meals, 8118

Typing in all the meal choices would have taken a half hour. But I did note that each evening the entree choices were different that the previous event and they always had a kid's menu.

Hello Everybody - does anyone know if Bongos are doing anything on New Years Eve? We're back on the island from the 29th. Just can't wait to get back to some decent weather and diving.

We had the Swiss style ham at Swiss Chalet two years ago for Christmas dinner. Do yourself a favor and have it sometime. As some folks say - "it's to die for".

Jo - no idea on Bongos. Henk's also not particularly good with e-mail, so I don't think anything ever gets sent out about his specials.
