Sorry, not sure of spelling....you know the place...between Sand Dollar and Eden Beach.

On our way to Bongo's last (and a webcam appearance which we didn't make)...we saw a chef outside the back of Den Leman. It opened on Saturday with a limited menu. We decided to try it and the food was excellent! Service couldn't get any better as we were the only diners there. The owner/chef said he is just experimenting with the kitchen, etc. So we felt privileged. Full menu in a couple of weeks.....highly recommend.

We were there on Monday, March 28, the day of your post! Loved the pumpkin soup with those cream cheese puffs. When we left, there were working putting up more decorative lighting and the staff was moving loads of large plants off a truck for landscaping. The owner is working on the phone lines for credit cards.

I also enjoyed the food and sat around until closing 3 nights in a row. Chef Otto and the owners Sietse De Jong and Leo De Bakker were very hospitable. They are still experimenting and may be the best kept secret on the island.

I didn't visit Bonaire Talk in a while, but now I'm back my eye fell on this topic (which should be called 'Den Laman' by the way Linda ;-) it means 'at sea' in Papiamentu). I happen to know the owners of this place very well, but unfortunately haven't been on Bonaire for quite a while, so I don't know how the restaurant is. But even if I did it's not up to me to praise them, as that wouldn't be objective. The only thing I want to say is that it's great that you all enjoyed it so much, and if you have anything to comment, please do so to the owners, I'm sure they will pick it up very well and try everything to improve if necessary.

I was treated to dinner the other night. The setting is magical. VERY attentive staff and nice menu. A bit pricey by my new life Bonaire standards. My surf and turf was 42,00 Naf and my dining partners Fish of the day was 32,00 Naf (average for BON). The seviche started was delish: 16,00 Naf.

I recommend this new dining spot. SUPER SUPER location and lovely refurbishment.

Thanks for a first hand review, Ann! I think we will try it when we are on island in August! Always interested in trying something new and I haven't tried this place since it opened recently.

We dined there a couple of weeks ago and were quite impressed, Jenni had the catch of the day and I had a fillet steak. Both were cooked to perfection.
