Just a note to let everybody know that Gibi is open every day except Wednesday for dinner, and I think lunches too. His phone is 567-0655, and he is at Kaya Hulanda #39. It's your first left as you head towards town from Kaya Industria on Nikkiboko Suide.(or a big dogleg from the old place.)

Christmas Dinner at Gibi's:

At Christmas and special occasions, the goat stew recipe is changed a bit. Much more savory bits are added and the result is delicious.

I had a mixed plate of turkey with stuffing, ham with pineapple, goat stew, potato salad, and I know I am forgetting something...ah yes, a baked potato which I had no more room for. I took that home with me.
We also had salad and garlic bread. Polar beer is great. I might even prefer it to Amstel Brite.

Halfway through dinner there was a blackout which lasted about 40 minutes. We ate by candle light.

Desert was flan and/or fruit cake. It was not the typical heavy-as-a-brick fruit cake but a homemade version with liquor and I'll have to ask Seb how it tasted but it looked quite light. I had the flan which was fabulous. I had no room for fruit cake.

Everything was yummie and I'm glad that we spent Christmas Dinner at Gibi's.

Uh Oh, looks like the "bad" words we added to the banned list must be "Tish" and "Gibi?" LOL!

This is software is starting to remind me of the computer on the british sitcom Red Dwarf - it supposedly is 3million years old, and where it once had an IQ of 6000, it had suffered memory rot over the years, and so claimed the IQ of "6000 PE teachers". Another quote, almost apropos:

"Rude alert! Rude alert! An electrical fire has knocked out my voice recognition unicycle! Many Wurlitzers are missing from my database. Abandon shop! This is not a daffodil. Repeat: This is not a daffodil."

Cynde, is the automated "monitor/editor" something new? I guess "humans" did it before the re-birth of BT? Hmmm. Let's see if it edits this one, too. Carole

Cynde,

I suspect you transposed the letter's in Tish's name... She should be happy that the content filter caught that, otherwise you'd have been swearing at her :-)

Carole - The content filter for certain words has been in place for at least the last two years (I think it was part of the upgrade I did on the BT software in January 2003 (2002?).

Thanks, Jake...it's fun to see what the filter picks on now and then! We get to play detective and try and figure out what "it" was thinking! LOL.

Your explanation for Cynde's "edit" makes sense....that could have been ugly! LOL. Carole

Jake, I guess my dyslexia is getting worse...LOL! Sorry Tish, I certainly didn't mean to swear at you...I think the filter has the * before that word and * after the word, so that's why only the 's showed up in Gibi's name...case solved...LOL! Oh, we did add a few more words to the list last week though ;-)
