Every Sunday afternoon starting around 2 a local band plays at the weekendbar at Lac Cai (next to the shell mounts). Locals and tourists gather, sing along. Food and drinks are sold. Very good atmosphere! Don't know much about Latin music, so cannot tell you the exact type, but it's great!
Here's a few pictures I took last May:

Kontiki and Croccantino both offer live Jazz on some weekends. City Cafe has live bands some weekends. Mango's, the Deco Stop (Habitat), Coconut Crash (Plaza), and Bongo's Beach, all have live music sometimes.

Music - jazz, tumba, caribbean, reggae, Dutch bands visit, cuban. I would say just no real hip-hop, or pop stuff.

When you get here, I would suggest picking up copies of Bonaire Reporter and the Update - both free. They would have what is happening for the next week or two.
