Leaving in a couple of weeks and was wondering what one wears in the nicer restaurants. Are shorts and T shirts acceptable?
Thanks,
Ann

Ann, yes that is acceptable everywhere, but I usually wear a sundress of some sort when going to the nicer places. Just be comfortable! Usually it's more comfortable in a sundress because you'll have sunburn and it won't touch anywhere! :-)

Nice Ts and shorts work fine although you will see most of the locals in long pants - believe it or not. Just in case, there is any mosquito problem (not likely because it is dry season) I would suggest bringing a pair of light weight pants like khakis. Just something to cover your legs so you only have to spray your ankles.
