All come --- everyone invited --- Fish BBQ for BTers (and anyone else) --- Friday, January 30 at 6:00 pm at the Richter's place.

As we have no idea of how many old and new friends will make it (given that it was only proposed to Jake and Linda today), we're going to get a bunch of fish (wahoo, dorado and rainbow runner probably), bring some fruit and salad -- and ask those who come to bring something to share, and kick in a few guilders towards the fish. The Richters have plenty of beer and soda left over from the last BBQ, according to Jake.

So, come on down and let's have some fun together.

Hope to see lots of you...We can do a group "mug" at the street cam!

Josie and Anne

Hey Josie, Jake didn't tell you. You all are eating pesto. Yep, the basil has turned into bushes and we need some major pruning so we are making pesto! Working great on fish and pasta.

Bushy Basil that's so cool. I guess the greenhouse is working! Is the basil trying to set flowers Linda?
Hmmm, think the restaurants could support a hydroponic herb farm?

Wally, we still had some of that fish seasoning from New Years Day so we used that for the fish party.

5 kinds - smoked salmon, local tuna sashimi, jack, rainbow runner, dorado

Seb, the basil is hedging even. I clipped a huge bowl full and you can't even tell I messed with the silly plants. Although I did line up a few willing basil takers to keep the plants in better check. We even have hot peppers and tomatoes forming.

We gave away our first clippings of basil today. I figure with 4-5 people and my family eating it we might keep the basil moderately mowed.

NICE BBQ. Many thanks to Jake for stepping in to cook the fish. Anne and I bought a huge bag, and then said "does anyone know how to cook this?"

Small, but wonderful, group --- lots of fun. Thanks again Linda and Jake for letting us use your home. Thanks also for the wonderful sashimi.

Please tell Yana and Bas again how much I enjoyed the greenhouse tour. They did a great job!!

Blow fish on the menu? Very impressive! Who cleaned it? Licensed? Sounds like a wonderful day at the Richter household with lots of very good green stuff to consume, too! Carole

PS I saw some folks earlier on in the day in the backyard at the water's edge...looked like fun!
