We are returning to Bonaire in February and would like some advice on where the best breakfast spots are. We do plan to go to the Lost Penguin as we have read very good things about that but we need other recommendations as well please.......four weeks and counting down!!

Lost Penguin is our favorite but we also like City Cafe's croissant with ham and cheese (they will add an egg if you ask), their fruit and their coffee. Also a great spot to watch people and traffic!

i agree with susan...city cafe is good...luigi's is also good. and you won't go wrong with the lost penquin either but they are only open for breakfast and lunch...they close at 6PM. see you in february...we'll be there in less than three weeks.

Pink Beach, the best breakfast spot by far. But you'll have to bring your own picknick.

Thanks Susan and Pat. I guess there is also a bakery at Cultimara that we could have pastries for breakfast. We stay at the Plaza so we aren't set up for cooking anything although we do have a small fridge. We did try City Cafe last year and it was so so but the view is great.. Planning dinners at Mona Lisa, Richards, and Tipsy Seagull. Are there any others that we shouldn't miss?? I have heard that Rendezvous is very good as well.

Dinners ... Pasa Bon Pizza, Chez Lucille, Casablanca, Bobbejans. Yes, there is a bakery at Cultimara and since you have a fridge you can always get some fruit or yogurt if that works for you for breakfast.

Also It Rains Fishes for dinner! Sorry I forgot them -- and I have their calendar right next to my computer!

I have to add dinners: Capriccios and Cracatinos (both Italian, Cracatinos across the street from the Lost Penguin)

Divi offers a buffet breakfast for a charge...it might be pretty expensive, but they used to have quite a selection..."made to order" type of setup. CArole

Besides all of the resort restaurants serving breakfast, you can also consider: Cozzoli's Pizzeria, not commonly thought of as a breakfast place, located seaside in Harborside Mall. Reasonable prices, fresh fruit shakes, cappuccino, American & Dutch style breakfasts, every day but Sunday & Wednesday. And of course, all served on a seaside terrace. Other downtown breakfast places not mentioned above: Zeezicht & Seahorse Cybercafe.

Thanks for all you suggestions. I'm sure we will try them out. We did have cappucinos at Cozzoli's last year and they were excellent but I didn't realize they also served breakfast. 30 days and counting down!!! It has been freezing in Pennsylvania. The past week we haven't had temps above freezing, highs in the low 20's. Time to head for Bonaire....

Cozzoli's Pizzeria is great for breakfast! Not fast food, but very nice. The breakfast is huge and fun - a do it yourself meal. Piles of shredded cheese, lettuce, ham, a croissant and I don't remember what else. A pleasant surprise our first time and we have been back almost every trip since.

Cozzoli's is nice, so is City Cafe --- but definitely don't miss the Lost Penguin.

City Cafe, definitely. You have a choice of all kinds of breakfasts (European, American etc), plus you can add all the little bites yourself (croissants, pancakes, sausages, eggs in any style, fresh (!!) orange juice, the best capucino on the island... ). Also important: they have all the newspapers.
