I just met the new owners Malouse and Manfred over at Rendezvous. Super nice young folks ready to serve the Bonaire eating community..they are hosting the King of the Caribbean Press Conferences as Marcel did so am pleased and also excited to get to know them.

They have a 20.00 USD 3 course menu that looks darn good. Will review once I save some $ to go..anyone have a review?

Annie

Hi, I worked at Rendez-Vous in 1995. Chef Martin cooks excellent food!!!! He is still there... Good value food in very nice atmosphere! I will check out the place and the new owners in November!! Lots of talking to do with Martin since we did not see eachother for 8 years... Hope he will prepare my favorite: deep fried shrimps and sirloinsteak with blue-cheese sauce!!!!! If you see him, tell him I am on my way! Greets, Marlies from Holland

Hi Michael... Yep, 8 years since I've been there, way tooooooo long! However, Pretty curious to see how things have changed over the last couple of years. I don't know what to expect! Maybe Martin will be so nice to make me feel "at home" by cooking my favorites!! If he does, I'll ask him to make a double portion, okay? (By the way, I am spinning my brains - difficult!!! - to try to remember if I know a Michael... Should I???? Don't make me feel too embarrassed!!!!)

Hi
Does anyone know what Marcel is up to,now that he is no longer in the restaurant business? I believe he had close to a twenty year run there. He sure is doing some serious walking but I don't see that as a real job.
Mickey

He says he has some "options" but I think that mainly he just wants to relax and walk for a while. They plan on staying on the island for another year at least, after that they're not certain yet, I think.

Hi There, I think that Shari (daughter) is reaching the age for high school as well. I can imagine that this would be a reason for Marcel and Hilde to move back to Holland for a certain level of education... Just guessing!
