Hate to sound stupid, but I am always interested in a new thing to eat. What is Ristaafel?

It is Dutch for "rice table". When the Dutch settled the West Indies they borrowed a treat which is a sampler table of Indonesian prepared meats, fish, chicken, and veggies. Yummy !!!

What restaurant serves this? When I was in BON, I swear all I ate was an occasional sandwich from Exito and a few pastries from Cultimara and Maikey snack..well, not entirely true, had a sate at a snack shack on the way to Sorobon and Chinese at a shack and a few light meals at Divi (their dining rest. is AMAZING)..

The Old Inn and Warung Ketjil are both great Ristaafel destinations. Check out the online Bonaire Dining Guide and Recipe book at www.bonairenet.com/diningguide for lots of listings. Wariung Ketjil was not open when the guide was published, however. There is a geat photo of a Ristaafel prepared at Old Inn (yes, we ate it after the photo session)

My vote goes to Warung Ketjil. Both are good, but we preferred Warung Ketjil more. Go for both of them! Live a little, you will be on vacation!! Here is a pic of the proprietor, again.....Carole
