And get the fish! It's a great meal for really pretty cheap - BIG slice of wahoo with a yummy onion/pepper sauce, plantains and a BIG yummy serving of funchi (which we took home most of to fry up for the next meal). It's a bit out in the country but well marked (except for one Y on the dirt road - stick to the left) how to get there.

Take the road to Sorobon (not road via Belhem) and follow to about 3 miles. On the left is a yellow sign on a dirt road saying Maikey Snack. Take that left and follow to first left I think. Follow road straight. It looks wrong and you seem to be driving into the Australian outback but lo and behold it is there. She takes up to 45 min. to cook your food but you can sit under the shade and chill.

What is that game called on the grounds..looks like Bocce..the local boys tried to teach me but apparently the little ball was missing.

Pick up a copy of the Dining Guide and you will find a map with their ad. Explicit Directions. (Dont try to look for signs, as they will mislead you.
Take Kaya Niki Boko South. It is the road that runs in front of the Catholic Church in town. If coming from the sea coast, it will be a right turn. Coninue a few miles until you pass a yellow painted building with the sign "La Portugesa" (Fresh fruit and veggies) on the right. A few hundred meters further is a soft ball/baseball field, Ball Park Sonrisa. Pay close attentiion because it will be the next left (dirt road). From here you also have to be alert since you will be looking for a farm named Transvaal on your right. It has a gate with dice on the fence post. It is the next left, dirt road. Continue a few hundred meters past a magnificent Tamarind tree and there you will find Maiky Snack. There are at least five or six other ways of findig it, but don't try it on a Thursday as they are closed. I have been after Friedo forever to make better signs, but I think he is just as happy with the status quo. BTW Annie, it is Bocce. We call it Bolas and take it very seriosly. Our Special Olympics team has done quite well in competitons as well.

Michael, you are a fount of information. A very kind woman led us to Kanocera Latina last time and I wrote down the directions, so we could find it again. I meant to get the excellent looking roadmap I saw onsale at Buddy's but I forgot entirely. Next trip, it is on my list along with the Bonaire Diving Guide.
