Hi. I'm thinking about a vacation and it looks
like I'll be going solo. Bonaire caught my
attention as a highly-recommended place to
snorkel and to (be more likely to) avoid
hurricanes in September/October.

To be honest, I haven't been in the water much
at all in the past decade, but now I'm starting
to ponder the world I'm missing. So before I
jump into scuba certification (and since I won't
have a buddy), I thought it'd make sense to
see how I like snorkeling. Sea kayaking
definitely appeals too, and Bonaire seems like
a great place to do both (possibly together?).

So the question is, if I'm there from a Thursday
till a Monday, all by my lonesome, will
kayaking and snorkeling be enough to hold
me? I also imagine that my body might not be
able to handle four days of paddling and
swimming.

So what else can I do in however much time
you think I may not be kayaking and/or
snorkeling? And in the evenings? I'm not
interested in touristy attractions,
"get-togethers" where drunk people dance to
loud music, etc.. Any recommendations about
anything would be welcome.

Hi Li,
Bonaire is definitly not the hot bed of night club activity. Most people who visit Bonaire enjoy healthy lifestyles, with healthy activities. In addition to kayaking and snorkling one can go biking ( incuding bike tours), particiapte in nature tours, go bird watching with a naturalist, take lessons in surf sailing, go hiking, visit the donkey sanctuary, see the old slave huts, lay in the wonderful warm Lac Baai, and enjoy a sunset sail. In fact you will be sorry you are there for such a very short time. Furthermore as far as night life is concerned Bonaire has many wonderful little restaurants. I was also by myself for part of my visit there and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
You will find the people of Bonaire very warm and hospitable. I know you are going to have a terrific time!
Dom
