I know you have to be experienced to dive the East Side, but how much experience is needed? What time of year is the best time for East Side Diving. It sounds like Bas or via Wannadive are the best sources for diving, but would any other dive operations take divers to the East Side? Thank you.

Hi Daren,

Do a search for East Coast diving. There have been numerous posts answering your questions.

In summary:
strong currents --> good overall condition
low vis --> good navigation skills
difficult entries and exits --> advanced shore diving experience

You need to be comfortable with diving in demanding conditions. I would not try the East Side with less than 100 to 150 dives.

Best time: Sep - Nov.

Other dive ops offer East Coast diving as well (if there is demand and if the weather permits).

Peter
