Does anybody know of an operator who will organize a trip to the Aves? After reading Dominique's book, I am intrigued and want to make a trip there

Greg,

let me know if you find one. Or perhaps we could organise something together.

Peter

Peter,

Becky, Tom and I made inquiries into making this trip while we were there in April. I have a number of people who want to go. I was hoping this posting would gain the attention of some of the larger boat operators. I think the trip should take several days. I assume you saw Dominique's book and website which discussed this location

Greg,

Yes I saw it in his book. Great book, BTW.
According to Dominique, it is easier to freedive there than to dive because of the waves.

But the wrecks must be awesome. I really want to go there to dive and shoot some film.

Hi Gregg, hi Peter,
Simply put, if there is this much interest I will look into this, organize a boat, and get it done, simple as that. Weather wise I suggest somewhere in late fall (less wind!) Let me know
Bart

Hi Bart,

I can probably get about 6-8 people from my normal bunch who are definitely interested. Obviously, Peter is interested. I figure Tom and Becky (they stay at LBR) would go if they are on the island.

What kind of boat would it take...that could go for 2-3 days?

I will be in Bonaire again late September for several weeks

You might want to try Frank Verbinen:
http://www.bonairefishing.com/siri/
We have a home there and will be down next week and I will certainly chat with him.

I know there was at one time an issue about having to go to the mainland to get clearance into Venezuela for visits to the islands but this might have been lifted now.

There is also a video made by a group that left Curacao and dived the wrecks there which has been shown on tv. We might try to track that down.

Of course I could try talking to DOm when I am down there as well.... if it has already been done it is probably possible ;))

John,

check our dreamwrecks.com it describes the themes of the book... Although I have the book, I don't remember the exact name...it can be purchased at several shops (including Chat N Browse)
