Has anyone seen the new website for shorediving
enthusiasts.... www.shorediving.com ??
This is a brand new site and so far they only
feature Hawaii and the ABC islands. It was mentioned as a public service in Sport Diver
Magazine (june2001 p 18). I was blown away by the great aerial photos of lots of Bonaire shorediving
sites such as Ol Blue, 1000steps,Oilslick Leap,
Andrea 1 and 2, etc!! There are also land based
photos of each site showing entry points and parking concerns. Underwater scenic opportunities
are discussed as well as ease or difficulty of
entry points. What a great preview for a Bonaire
shorediving vacation!! My wife and I plan to get down there as soon as we can afford it. I'm a solo
shorediving nut (my wife doesn't dive). I have
logged several solo shoredives in Roatan (Cocoview),but I'm sure Bonaire's sites are a lot better. I'm there already in spirit!! AZdvr

I saw that web site a few months ago and I couldn't believe how well done it is. The quality of the images is superior and the text information is very useful.I've been to Bonaire a few times, and I still learned a lot from the info presented. The aerial shots are fantastic! Free access is pretty cool too!

The ShoreDiving.com site is pretty cool, with good pictures of many Bonaire sites. Unfortunately, not very many divers have entered any reviews or comments. At least once a month, a diver headed for Bonaire poses a question on BonaireTalk re the "best" dive sites. If more Bonaire veterans would enter some reviews, the shore diving site could serve as a good source of information. Of course, it will never answer the highly subjective question regarding the "best" sites on Bonaire (there are probably as many answers as there are divers), but it would be fun to read collected opinions.

I'll have to take time, grab my log book and enter some reviews and comments. I'm pretty anal when it comes to making notes - they tend to be fairly extensive when it comes to things like entry conditions and what we saw. You never know when you will be back diving the same site.

Ok, folks, I've surfed the shorediving site about a month ago, and it was great, but I didn't bookmark it. The web addresses you gave have turned up nothing for me on the engines I'm using...anybody have a complete site address? Thanks.

Dean
Thanks for publicly posting the website in
easy access, click-on form! Sorry That I'm not expert enough in the world of computers to do this myself or I would have put it in my origional
message. Thanks again Jerry

Thanks for pointing this out!

It's a great site for not only Bonaire but Curacao too and I'm sure the other locales as well (haven't had time to go there yet).

Shorediving.com is an awesome website. Hi all. My name is Jyl and I'm a lurker. I usually don't comment on anything but I really liked the shoredive site and will be sure and add my reviews and comments as soon as I return from Bonaire Aug. 15th. My partner Marian owns at the Sanddollar and we get down several times a year. We'll be in Bonaire for two weeks this trip and I hope to log as may dives as possible.

Thanks, Dean, I went overboard and entered my entire dive log to the shoredive site, including Bonaire, Curacao and Klein Curacao...guess that means I have to return to Bonaire next spring and do different sites!

Jerry: Thanks ever so much for alerting the rest of us to this fabulous site. It truly reflects the many, many great sites available to all in Bonaire.....many, many more than the "sister" islands! Makes me want to jump right into the monitor screen to be there right now. Thank you so much. Carole
