I haven't posted much, but have certainly gotten hooked on reading this board! Everyone is wonderfully helpful and offers some much insight! Can someone please tell me exactly how to get to the Mangroves and how to get to the best area for snorkeling once you find the general area. Michael did give us some help on this, but I am embarassed to say that I still find it confusing! We went to either Lac Bay or Lac Cai last time (next to Jibe City), but don't think that was the right place because there was really nothing (other than sea grass) to see snorkeling and there were no mounds of conch shells. We want to be absolutely sure that we don't miss out this time! We are snorkelers not divers. Any specific directions on how to get there would be great! We will be there June 24! Can't wait!!! When you reach jibe city, just continue out until you see the fishing boat pier on your left. There are a bunch of shade buildings that have been erected. Park next to the one in front of the pier. Facing the water, enter to the right of the pier. Once, in, swim left and follow the shore line, looking into the root system of the trees. Also keep an eye out to the deeper water for tarpon and curioius baracuddas. Your best bet is to take a guided snorkel trip. It is well worth the effort.
