I saw an announcement for the Pink Bus that seems to hang out at shore dive sites and offers lockers, drinks, and explanations of the dive site. Does anyone know about this? Who is sponsoring it? Has anyone taken advantage of the services? I assume there is a charge for the drinks and use of the lockers. Any charge for the info about the dive site (other than a tip for a good report)? Is there a schedule posted anywhere?

There was a previous posting about this. A friend of Jake's, Pasquel (probably spelled incorrectly) runs this. It's a huge pink bus that covers the southern dive sites. He offers free lockers to keep your belongings, will watch your vehicle, has beverages and snacks for sale and I believe miscellaneous dive gear parts in case something goes wrong with yours.

I am surprised that the Hilma Hooker is a Dive Bus stop. I always thought that the Hilma Hooker was just a boat dive, not a shore dive. How far from shore is it? Is it difficult to navigate from shore out to the Hilma Hooker? I'm guessing that I could set my compas heading on the surface based on the position of the buoys marking the wreck. Any suggestions?

The Hilma Hooker is really a nice shore dive. Aim for one of the three dive moorings (bow, mid, stern) and snorkel out past the reef. Descend to the wreck from open water (or using the mooring line). We cruise back up the reef slope and shallows afterwards.

The "Hooker" is about a 10 minute surface swim but be carefull with entry and exit. The shore is a bit rough there.
