We read a story about a new "Dive Bus" in Bonaire. Each day it will be at a different shore diving site. We read it will have a place to store valuables, sell snacks and some other services. Does anybody know when it is going to start?

It's operating now, and apparently quite a success. It's run by Pascal Demeyer of Photo Tours Divers at Caribbean Court. We're working with him on getting the schedule posted on-line.

Also, we were told that when the bus is at Salt Pier - that the dive shop has a permit to dive at Salt Pier. So, if you are a customer - you have a permit and don't have to get your own permit from the harbor master. Someone at the Photo Tours Divers told us that - hopefully it is correct.

Pascal has done a great job with this. You can see his sign as you head south towards the dive sites (just past the airport). He has lockers, rinse water, some spare dive/camera parts, food and he watches your vehicle providing is close to the bus. All in all a great service. We met him at the Bar-b-que in late April and he filled us in on his new venture as well as some clues to some great dive sites. One recommendation we had was to set up some type of account with divers so that we didn't have to carry cash/credit cards even tho he offered the lockers. There were times before and after dives that we didn't want to be carrying that type of tempation around with us. Thanks Pascal!

There will be work on a Web site for the Dive Bus in the coming weeks (I'm sure y'all can guess the address, but it doesn't work yet). All the details will be there.

The current schedule is 9am-4:30pm
Monday at Angel City
Tuesday at Hilma Hooker
Wednesday at Margate Bay
Thursday at Salt Pier (or Jeannies Glory if a ship is at the pier)
Friday at Alice in Wonderland
Saturday at Windsock
Sunday at Pink Beach

And if the Dive Bus is at the Salt Pier, they have been given the necessary permission from the Harbour Master.
