Wanna know which way the current flows off the shore of Bonaire?? Susan & I were vacationing @ The Plaza last March (loved it ,highly reccomend it) from our home in Masachusets. I have a waterproof "Otterbox" I carry drivers license, credit card , room key etc w/ me when I dive or swim. About the middle of our vacation I went down to the Plaza beach for a late afternoon swim, I had my H20 proof box in my pocket and as I walked into the water I thought "I should tie this to my drawers... no it will be ok" Someday I will learn to listen to that little voice but not at that moment. Sure enough get out of the water , dry off , walk back to the room... no little box in my pocket, no creditcard, room key ,drivers license, cash etc. Panic, inconvenience the whole nine yards and the worst part being no one to blame but myself ( I hate that).

Jack, this is intriguing but needs some clarification before we can really know where the current flows. The Mosquito Coast is part of Honduras in Central America. In order for the case to get to Ecuador it would've had to float through the Panama Canal.

Whoops, The Mosquito Coast is part of Nicaragua's Caribbean coast.

I bet the "Otterbox" maker would love that story for advertising.

I have asked our moderator to please correct my geographical locations ... I had hoped before all you worldly types caught my mistake. I meant to type Nicaragua not Ecuador. I realized this out of a dead sleep at 4:00 am, sorry for the mistake. Just checking to see who was paying attention

jack, what a great story (although having it go through the panama canal would be interesting!), and yes, faith in mankind. i think you should write the company, maybe they will put you in a commercial!

No need for me to correct the geography Jack - it's already been done in transit, so to speak. Great story!
