Can anyone tell me about the Divi Flamingo dive operation. I have heard wonderful things about the hotel via this site.

Don't know about the Divi dive operation, but right next door is the Carib Inn. Bruce has a great dive operation - and only a small number of divers per boat - no cattle boats. Lots of people dive with him even though they stay somewhere else. He has lockers for your stuff if you want to use one and dive with him. Some of the staff has been with him for years. His equipment has always been great. I like the idea of having the same tank for the entire stay. The Cabin Inn dive shop also has a really good variety of stuff.

Thanks for tip on O-rings. I got a pack tonight at the local dive shop to take along. Mary I have read repeatedly about Bruce B's., but got great dive deal on this trip. I'll report if you get what you pay for, or if is really a super value.

Who should I contact to find out about the Marine Research that is taking place on Bonaire?

I'd like to know what possible species counts have been performed and what studies are currently posting data to a web site?

We are running our Field Study from June 24 - July 3 and I hope to be able to show our students some real research that we can become involved in on a short term basis.

For official marine research, you should contact the marine park offices. mailto:info@bmp.org

For visitors, I would also suggest REEF surveys. These are fish ID surveys that can be done via scuba or snorkel at any time. You can find out more about them at http://www.reef.org
We have several Reef Field stations on island for picking up survey forms and help IDing those fish.
Bonaire's number is 8503 if you would like to see the database results.
