We like to remind you that we will have our monthly underwater clean-up dive on Saturday 11. January

Therefore, everybody is invited to join us at Green Submarine at 1.00 PM. After being instructed about the (safety) procedures the participants will be informed what area will be cleaned. Everybody will be provided with free air, a bag to collect the trash, and an orientation on proper underwater trash collection procedures.

We expect that we will be back at Green Submarine by 3.30 PM to count the collected trash.

If you would like to do so, you will have time to go home to pick up your stuff because
all are invited to join our "potluck barbecue" from 5.00 PM.

The sponsors will provide the meat and everybody is requested to bring a snack. Soda will be free, and a limited supply of beer will be available, but you may bring your own alcoholic beverages. If for some reason other family members of a participant can't participate during the water and shore clean-up, they would still be welcome at the BBQ too.

Please call Pascale at 717-2929 or Jake at 717-6773 for information and/or registration.

Jake & Gerrie

Jake,

As I don't have the good fortune to live on Bonaire, and I won't be vacationing there until later in the year (I hope), I obviously can't participate in the cleanup. I did however want to applaud your continued efforts to maintain Bonaire's wonderful environment. Having the Marine Park to protect things is fantastic, but this type of added effort is what brings people back to Bonaire year after year. Please extend my thanks to all of the organizers, sponsors & participants.

Thanks,
Mike

What a great way to keep the waters clean. We won't be able to help out, but maybe next time we're down.

You mentioned that it's a monthly thing, is there a set schedule or do you guys just wing it from month to month. If we had a rough idea when it was going to happen, we might actually try to plan around it.

Michael

Jake, do you have advance info on the dates for the February and March clean-ups? I'd like to make sure at least one gets on my (not-so-busy)schedule while I'm there.

Josie,
They are supposed to be second Saturday of each month: Jake has confirmed 8 March (Jean & I'll be there), February should be the 8th also. Remember, we'll be there on Feb 21st; will be same place as last year. So, if we don't see sooner, we'll hope to meet at Gibi's on the 25th.
Chet
PS. I'll have some 2003 edition badges. :)

Michael - it happens the second Saturday of every month, at least that's the plan... (as Chet indicated)

Jake

PS I got lunch at Gibi's and warned him about upcoming Tuesday nights. It wouldn't hurt to call him in advance when a BT dinner is in the offing, just to warn him to have enough food ready :-)

OK, I'll be happy to call him prior to Feb. 4, if people who tentatively expect to be there for the Tuesday's at Gibi's evening that night will advise me within the next week or so.

Very much looking forward to seeing new and old friends...

Tom and I will be in Bonaire for the March 4 and 11th dinners. We would love to join you and meet everyone. Jake, are you and Linda going and could you please give us a lift?

Don't know yet if we'll be going to both, but if we do, we can certainly pick you up / drop you off.

Jake,
It appears there are few, if any, Amstel bottles (brown?) in the clean-up trash. Is it the case that the Amstel bottles are the only ones that can be returned (for cash) and are then reused? If so, seems like a good reason to drink bottled Amstel while on the island.
