I have started keeping my log book in the computer.

If I just print out the last 8 or 10 dives will that satisfy the dive shops? Or do they even check your log book? I hate to lug along my old log books.

The only time a dive shop would check a log book is in the unlikely event you lost your c card or were taking a course and the instructor wanted to see proof of a particular diving experience. It is quite rare that shops here ask for your book, however if you intend to take any advanced course, bring it along.
