Well, last night I developed the slides from my trip last week and I actually have a few that are pretty good (even without a digital camera! The good old Nikonos came through again).

The diving seemed better this time than on my last couple of trips (this was my 19th trip to Bonaire). The reefs looked healthier and there seemed to be more animal life. I guess things have recovered a bit since Lenny came to visit.

Seahorses, frogfish, eels, a turtle, squid, an octopus, all the small critters - - geez, it's hard to be back at work this week!

Peggy

Peggy, Are you going to share your pictures with us? I can't wait. I'm also a government drone, Bonaire helps keep me sane. Debbie

Peggy, I just returned from Bonaire last week. It seemed that I saw more fish than before. The reefs did look better than last year. I could see more small coral in the shallows.
The vis was not as good most days as I remembered on past trips. One day we jumped off the boat at Forest and it looked like a bad day in the Keys. Once we got over the wall, the vis improved a lot. I guess the nutrients in the water are helping the coral and small fish. The vis was still much better than most other places, just not 100 feet this time.
I did get some great video of octopus, squid, turtles, sea horse, scorpion fish lunging to eat, eel snakes. One diver with us was making her first ocean dives and others were jealous that she was getting to see so much stuff on her first dive trip.
