Hi,

A friend is looking to do her SSI open water (OW) cert in Bonaire in Feb 2003. Apparently there are three places that offer the OW, Bon bini, Wannadive and Diveinn. And suggestions/comments? thanks Lydia

Bon bini are great and look after rather nervous ladies very well. We have always had excellent service from them. Get in touch if you want more info.

Have your friend complete her classroom and pool work before she goes down to Bonaire. Most of the US local shops are happy to do the preliminary classwork and then give the paperwork to the trainee to take with them to Bonaire for the OW completion.

I can not say enough good things about the guys at WannaDive. I have had the pleasure over the years of diving with these fun guys, both at their own operation and at another nice resort they used to work at.

I am taking 15 diving friends to dive with them in early February 2003 and as soon as I return I will be booking my trip for 2004.

And I can't say enough good about Bon Bini! I did my referral dives there with Mananita, who is a terrific instructor. We all have our favorites.

Well, I have to put in a good word for Dive Inn - we have used them on 2 out of 3 previous trips to Bonaire. Although all we need are tanks & weights, the folks there are very helpful, friendly. Their prices are competitive, too.

I am an Instructor working in Ireland, I had the pleasure of visiting Bonaire this year in July/August, I did my months diving thru the Dive Inn and really can't praise them on their professional and most friendly attitude.
It is not in my nature to bad mouth anyone but having visited most of the dive centres on the island there are two that I would have no problem recommending, one is the Dive Inn and the other is Photo Tours.
I wish everyone involved many happy days diving.
Jamie

My wife and I have been going to Bart Snelder for 6 years. We did our open water and advanced tickets with him while he was working for a resort. Now he has his own biz, Wannadive, and the group of people he has chosen to work with him are all as excellent as he is. I heartily recommend Wannadive.
