Going to Capt. Don's first week of May.....have had recent knee surgery and can't stand long shore hikes with tanks.....realize docks recently wiped out by storm....what is their condition by May and how far to hike with tanks on shore?

Many of the shore diving sites are closer to the water than the boat docks were from the equipment lockers.

For example, at the site I like, named Invisibles, you park your car and gear up within 50 feet of the water.

You will enjoy the boat dives. Explain to the boat captain and insist on having your tank removed prior to climbing back on board.

The shore diving is just a matter of driving around and finding sites that look appealing for entry. Work with your buddy to carry your equipment down to the water and suit up at the waters edge. Get dive booties with a fairly solid sole for support. You must have booties to walk over the rocks at the water's edge.
