This question is often asked and everybody has their 'favorites'... mine is the salt pier, awesome variety of fish and beautiful when the sun shines down through the water !

It depends on what you like. My favorite is baby beach on the windward side, I saw my first sharks there. On the other side, it's Ol'Blue. But most of the sites are great.

Where are you gonna stay??

Very often the best site is in your own back yard - the chance to repeatedly dive a reef can be very rewarding in focussing the eyes to pick out more stuff.

I really like the double reef systems. Try Angel City or Alice in Wonderland in the South.

Hi,

Not a Bonaire "expert" but last year my favorite reefs were:

1. The one I was presently diving

2. The next one I tried out

3. See #1, repeat, rinse your gear, re-apply.

If you have access to a "house" reef they are all wonderful in their own way, Aand all the shore sites offer something diffent. Be sure to try out some of reefs off Klein Bonaire as well (boat dives of course) If you like shipwrecks, the Hilma Hooker needs to be on your list.

We just returned from a week of diving on bonaire...there are no bad dives..some are just better than others...I think our favorite this trip was LaDania's Leap to Karpata. Wednesday we saw 9 turtles...Fri we saw 5 turtles, green moray, one eagle ray and one MANTA ray plus the always present black sea horse at Karpata.
We did manage to dive Cai on the east side one day when the water was calm, saw multiple tarpon, turtles, eagle rays and one black tip reef shark..however, it was a long swim to the reef with strong currents and poor visibility (bonaire standards)...not recommended for new divers

Most definitely Salt Pier. Great variety of sea life. Be sure to enter just south of the pier. You can walk in and out with no problems.

that is of course a hard question but from 2 dive trips to bonaire i would say my favorites were:
karpata, rappel, 1000 steps, the lake, margate bay, hands off.

there are lots of sites we have not dove yet though

Selecting one dive site is difficult on Bonaire because of the great variety of coral and marine life. However, for the greatest diversity and concentration I would pick Bari Reef. A shore dive from the new Sand Dollar pier puts you right on the reef. On a recent trip we saw two brightly colored seahorses at 50 to 60 feet.
