Would someone please list sites that still provide good snorkeling? Thanks for the help. We can't wait to return to Bonaire later this month.

It is planned but we are waiting for information from TCB that they are collecting from the dive ops. Jake and I are not snorkellers so we wouldn't be the best judges. (Plus we've been sick combined with traveling so we haven't been in the water much at all.) Anyway, one of the best updates about the reef I've seen is on Buddy Dive's web site. See http://www.buddydive.com/News.html and page down to the "Reef Condition" section. And it has current underwater pictures of two sites.

I have recently visited an area that I love to snorkel at, which is the stretch of coast south of Margate Bay/Red Beryl. There is about a 10' wide strip of gorgonians, sea fans and some blade fire coral that runs along the entire stretch of coast off the south shore. And there are tons of fish. I just went last weekend, and other than the loss of a good portion of the blade fire coral, it was otehrwise in tact. Just drive on down, and when you see a nice thick "dark patch" near the coast line, just pull over and climb in! My favorite spot has no name, but it is at the second pull-off after the raod has narrowed to one lane. Entry is easy, but booties or teva's for entering are a good idea. I head north, and always find tons to see. Give it a try!

MY HUSBAND AND I JUST RETURNED FROM A WONDERFUL VACATION. WE SAW OVER 75 DIFFERENT VARITIES OF FISH AND WE ONLY SNORKEL. IF YOU SNORKEL GOING OUT ON THE WOODWIND WITH RENEE IS A MUST! SHE BROUGHT US TO THE BEST SITES AND WOULD POINT OUT THINGS THAT WE WOULD HAVE NOT SEEN. LENNY MAY HAVE DESTROYED SOME OF THE CORALS, BUT THE FISH ARE IN ABUNDANCE EVERY WHERE AND IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW BONAIRE PRIOR TO LENNY YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN ABOUT THE DAMAGE.WE WENT TO NO NAME BEACH, ANDREA, THE SMALL WALL AND IN FRONT OF THE DIVI FLAMINGO. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO ISLANDS FOR 5 YEARS AND NOTHING HAS COME CLOSE TO BONAIRE FOR SNORKELING. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO ADD THAT WHEN YOU SAIL ON THE WOODWIND JAN FROM JANART DOES A VIDEO OF THE SAILING AND THE SNORKELING THAT YOU CAN PURCHASE. IT IS WELL WORTH IT! ALL THE BEAUTY WE EXPERIENCED WAS RECORDED AND WE CAN RE-LIVE OUR TRIP UNTIL WE GO AGAIN NEXT YEAR!
