I've stayed at the Plaza the last 2 years and have done all my night diving there, other than one dive at the Town Pier. I'm staying at the Plaza again next week. Any suggestions for a good night diving site with easy night time entry and exit?

diving the house reef of plaza at night is fun too, besides that I love Bari Reef for easy entry and exit, however using the dock of sand dollar without signing in before might be a problem, but you can circumvent that by entry and exit at Sunset Beach, still easy to get into the water, booties required though.

Bachelor's Beach has steps, I must admit that other than the piers (closed just now) we usually night dive at the resort.

Michael, Just north of the Divi is Cha Cha Beach(public parking). It is a public beach with a pier. At the end of the pier is a 3" rope that goes to the drop off of the reef. Now 20ft to the north of the rope is a pipe that goes from shore, down the reef, all the way to Curacao. Back to the rope. Enter the water, and follow the rope to the drop off. Go down the reef as deep as you want. Swim south till you see a 20ft boat(upright) at 55fsw. This will be your turn point(1/2 tank). follow the reef(north) back to the pipe. Follow the pipe(east)to the top of the reef. Swim south to the rope, and to the pier.

Ron, a pipe that goes all the way to Curacao? Hyperbole, right?

Ah, that explains it. I thought for a minute it was a creative solution to the sewage problem. Pipe it to Curacao!

Buddy Dive has a great night dive, and you can dive Dons (turn right) and Bari Reef(turn left) from there. Suggest you check with them. It's a nice day dive too.

I love Oil Slick for a night dive...it's really dark there at night, so best to bring a strobe to attach to the bottom of the ladder (visible underwater) and don't venture too far away as there is dense life right near the entrance. Several times last April, we saw an amazing bio luminescent show just after dusk several times at the site...though we never found an explanation about what it was.

hey Splash, do a search on ostracods below if it was the same amazing show we have seen several times at night on Bonaire, then I thinks that is probably what they were...was like floating among the stars

I'm not really sure, but they seem to be most active in bonaire when there is a real low or no moon..we have seen them most often about an hour or so after dark. We observed them on both ends of the Island, the first time being on a night dive at something special..accidentally discovered them when we made a sweep with the lights and turned them off....WOW
