Am I right in remembering that diving gloves are not allowed while diving in Bonaire?

I have a medical condition called psoriasis on my hands. They are easily cut open by the coral. Is there a way to get approval so I could use the gloves just to enter and exit the shore dives for protection?

6. Gloves: the use of gloves is prohibited in the BNMP. Divers who must wear gloves due to medical conditions will need to bring a doctor’s declaration, not older than 30 days, to the headquarters of the Bonaire National Marine Park at Barcadera to get a permit allowing them to use gloves.

Contact the BNMP and find out what sort of note you need from your doctor. They will give out permits under special circumstances. marinepark@stinapa.org
